Dr. Stephanie Marko is a psychiatrist offering patient-centered psychotherapy and medication management to residents of the Research Triangle area.

Dr. Marko focuses on understanding who you are, what problems you are encountering, and how these problems are impacting your life.  Dr. Marko is committed to providing a comprehensive assessment and to taking a collaborative approach in developing an individualized treatment plan. Treatment options often include psychotherapy, medications, or both. The combination of medication and therapy can be particularly helpful, and as a physician that utilizes both modalities, Dr. Marko can offer both services.

Dr. Marko works with patients with a wide range of symptoms and problems, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance use disorders, and more. She will soon be providing Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) maintenance program for opioid dependence as well.

In addition, Dr. Marko has specialized training in working with pregnant and post-partum women. She is experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy (a short-term, symptom focused therapy) with pregnant and post-partum women. She also is experienced in providing women and their families with the information they need to make informed decisions regarding the use of medications.

Dr. Marko completed her psychiatry residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.  She graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School with her M.D., and from Vanderbilt University with a bachelors degree in molecular biology.
