Dr. Kyle Savage

Dr. Kyle Savage is a Human Performance & Sport Psychology Consultant at Carolina Performance in Raleigh. Dr. Savage is an expert in human performance. Dr. Savage practices sport psychology and has worked with many professional and elite amateur athletes -- including those in golf, the arts, and the United States Army Special Operation Forces -- using Performance Psychology techniques and theory.

Dr. Savage is an expert in human performance. Dr. Savage practices sport psychology and has worked with many professional and elite amateur athletes using Performance Psychology techniques and theory.

Dr. Savage has worked extensively with professional and collegiate golfers, served as a Head Coach in the NCAA, and caddied on the PGA Tour. Dr. Savage has also worked with artists on performance related issues and, most recently, has worked with the United States Army Special Operation Forces to optimize training and tactical operation capabilities. With the Special Operators, Dr. Savage developed cutting-edge, empirically based training technologies and protocols to be employed in simulated training exercises. Dr. Savage was selected as part of an Human Performance team that met to develop a curriculum for the Armed Services to be presented to the United States Congress.

Dr. Savage is trained to help individuals and teams develop and use the psychological skills necessary to perform optimally, realize their potential, and increase their physical and emotional readiness and health. Dr. Savage utilizes techniques such as goal-setting, performance profiling, imagery/visualization, arousal regulation/stress management, attention control, and other perceptual, cognitive-behavioral methods. Dr. Savage also has worked with group dynamics, teamwork/team-building and has expertise in leadership, effective communication, and competition/cooperation. Dr. Savage also has training and background in counseling both for individuals and groups.

Dr. Savage has a BS degree in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. His MA and PhD degrees are from the University of Maryland in College Park. Dr. Savage has published work on Psychological Momentum on the PGA Tour.
