P. Glueck, MA, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified
Counselor. Her private practice, Bethany Glueck, PC, is located in the office
suite of Carolina Performance at The American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness.
She provides mental health assessments and individual counseling to adolescents
and adults. With Carolina Performance she facilitates groups and seminars as an
independent contractor. Beth completed her Masters of Arts in Counseling from
Appalachian State University and bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University

Beth has experience and training in facilitation of psycho-educational and
interpersonal therapy groups. She has been a coordinator and facilitator for the
AIHF Diabetes Treatment and Management Seminars. She has lead psychotherapy groups,
children of domestic violence, and women's issues groups. PHILOSOPHY
To provide practical and clinically sound counseling services which help
to improve individual and families' quality of life. Her approach in working with
clients is for them to develop self-awareness, positive coping skills, and work
from their strengths to develop and empower personal responsibility. Beth has
a strong interest in the impact of emotional health and stress on physical health.
Her goal is to help clients work towards holistic wellness. Her treatment approaches
are developed on an individual assessment plan. She collaborates with physicians,
psychiatrists, nutritionists, and other specialists to facilitate a treatment
team approach to your care. She most often uses the models of cognitive behavioral
therapy (CBT), behavior modification, motivational interviewing, progressive relaxation,
and guided imagery. EXPERIENCE
Beth has provided client care in the Raleigh area since 1999 in a variety of settings:
Inpatient substance abuse treatment, school-based and mental/medical health clinic,
battered women's shelter, and private practice. She was a behavioral specialist
in a 1995 research project: The multimodal medial treatment study of ADHD children
through Duke University Medical Center, where she received specialized training
in behavior modification and child ADHD. SPORTS
EXPERIENCE Beth believes exercise does impact personal and social development
by improving self-esteem and energy, in addition to serving as a source of stress
reduction. She pitched for her high school softball team, has completed a marathon,
half marathons, and a sprint triathlon. She is certified as a group fitness instructor,
personal trainer, and cycle instructor through Interactive Fitness Trainers of
